The Clintons hit the headlines last week when it emerged that the couple had earned a huge amount for making speeches.
Hillary Clinton told ABC News: “All of the fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation for it to continue its life changing and life saving work. So it goes from a foundation at a university to another foundation.”
Hillary Clinton was referring here to the money that she has been paid to speak at universities and colleges and not in relation to money she has been paid to make speeches for private companies and events around the world.

There is an increasing amount of controversy about the amount of money that Hillary and Bill Clinton have made through their public speaking appearances. Bill Clinton is said to have made more than $100,000,000 since 2001 through making speeches, although the biggest pay days for Bill have come from private companies and for private events.
The news about how much money the couple have bee making from their speeches comes only a few weeks after Hillary Clinton told Diane Sawye that she and her husband were “dead broke” after they left the White House following the end of he husbands presidency. With so much money coming into the Clinton household over the years through making speeches it is hard to believe that they are still struggling to pay the bills at home.
Now future public speaking engagements could be in jeopardy because of the amount of money she is charging and some students at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas are threatening demonstrations unless Hillary Clinton returns the $225,000 fee she is charging the university for an upcoming speech she is to make there in October.
It is well known that in demand speakers are able to command a large pay check for their services and a former US President such as Bill Clinton seems to always be in demand while his wife Hillary is making the most of her time outside the political spotlight at the moment to bring in some extra money through her speech making also.
